Water Main Repair on Jerome Ave

Water Main Repair TODAY – You may experience cloudy water, but water IS safe to drink!

We have identified a leak near 126 Jerome Ave.  We will be performing an emergency repair and digging this morning.

 Cairo highway is providing flaggers and signs.  Jerome Ave will be squeezed to one lane during this job.  We will be turning off the water to Jerome Avenue for about an hour or two to do the repair.  Best guess, 9:30 – 11:30.

We are also utilizing the emergency well at the old reservoir to maintain pressure.  The emergency well has sulfur water and some homes may experience cloudy water due to the entrapped gas.  It is perfectly safe, but cosmetically disturbing.

 We expect to have this repair completed by this afternoon.

 There is very likely another leak on Jerome that we have not located yet.
